Biography
Tim Yates is a musician, sound artist and composer working in a variety of forms, from building interactive gallery installations to performing freely-improvised music with found objects, home made instruments and toys. He has degress in philosophy and classical guitar performance from the Unviersity of Leeds and Trinity College of Music and a master degree in composition from the Royal College of Music. He is fully immersed in the free-improvisation and sound-art worlds, and is particularly interested in exploring the boundaries between composition and improvisation, and in finding new and innovative ways to interact with, and absorb oneself in, musical materials.
